Berthoud-based Longs Peak Futbol Academy Joins Colorado Soccer Association

The Longs Peak Futbol Academy (LFA Rush) is pleased to announce it has received approval from the Colorado Soccer Association (CSA) as a provisional member. Launched in May 2024, LFA Rush is a non-profit competitive soccer club for boys and girls ages 8 to 18. The Berthoud-based club is led by Director of Coaching Rick Lizondo, who brings a player-first culture to youth soccer. During its inaugural season, LFA Rush fielded eight teams with 120 players.
"This has been a parent-driven effort to bring competitive soccer to Berthoud, and we are thrilled to meet this milestone," says Club President Joe Donnelly, explaining that the CSA membership allows LFA Rush to begin hosting games in Berthoud next fall. "The Town of Berthoud's partnership has been instrumental. If you drive by Bein Park on a weeknight, you'll likely see our teams training and playing soccer at an impressive level. We have a lot of talented kids in this community, and this gives them a place to shine."
As an affiliate of Rush Soccer, LFA Rush is part of an international network of 80 youth and professional clubs. Tryouts for the 2025-2026 season will be held in Berthoud during the last week of May. The club also offers summer programming. Visit www.lfarush.com to learn more.
